Professional body looking for someone to take over from Callum Chomczuk at the end of the year
The Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) national director for Scotland has today announced his departure from his current position and the housing sector.
Callum Chomczuk has held the role for over seven years and will step down at the end of the year.
On a LinkedIn post, he wrote: “I have loved my time working in the sector and working with members and stakeholders to improve the housing system in Scotland and across the UK.”
Several sector leaders have thanked Chomczuk for his work, including former CIH presidents Alison Inman and Aileen Evans, who said she was “gutted”.
Inman, chair of Tpas England, described the news as a “loss to housing” and praised Chomczuk as a “magnificent ally in the fight against male violence against women and girls”.
Chomczuk also said he will reveal more details about his new post in the coming weeks.
CIH Scotland has started the recruitment process for a new national director.
Rachael Williamson, director of policy, communications and external affairs, CIH, said: “Gutted to be losing Callum but where one door closes another one opens, so this presents a fantastic opportunity for someone else to take on the role of CIH Scotland director.”
