Durham-based landlord has also recently appointed a new chair and chief
North Star Housing Group has appointed five new board members in a period of change for the Durham-based landlord.

The housing association which manages 4,000 homes and is based in Stockton-on-Tees announced the appointees this week.
They include Sarah Roxby, who is executive director of customers and communities at Vico Housing, Richard Fryer, formerly executive director of governance and integration at Karbon Homes, and Bill Fullen, ex-chief executive of Believe Housing.
Also included are David Butcher, an accountant and director of finance at Leeds Trinity University, and Deborah Lewis Bynoe, who is director of resources at Wilf Ward Family Trust, which supports adults with learning difficulties.
The latest announcements follow the appointment of Nicki Clark as chair in September 2025, and James Walder as chief executive in 2024. It has also launched a new tenant scrutiny panel.
Clark said: “Exceptional, ambitious and purpose driven governance is a key ingredient to North Star’s current and future success.
”Our new board members bring this in abundance, and I’m thrilled to be working alongside them and our existing colleagues.”
North Star’s previous chair Anna Urbanowicz and deputy chair, Claire Warren, have stepped down at the end of their board terms. Manisha Sharma stepped down due to ill health.
