Victor da Cunha will be responsible for improving the housing association’s C3 consumer grade

Notting Hill Genesis has appointed a new chief customer officer.

Victor da Cunha is set to join the 65,000-home association from Curo, a 14,000-home housing association in the south-west of England where he is currently chief executive.

Da Cunha will take up his post at the large London-based landlord in March 2026, with Chyrel Brown continuing as interim chief customer officer until that time.

The chief customer officer role will involve supporting Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) in its attempt to return to regulatory compliance, particularly regarding the consumer standards rating.

Last year, the Regulator of Social Housing awarded NHG a low ‘C3’ score for consumer regulation meaning there are serious failings requiring significant improvement.

Working at Curo since 2011, da Cunha has led it from regulatory supervision through a group restructure and integration. The provider received a C1 judgement in July 2025.

He is also a board member of the National Housing Federation and chair of its national Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Housing Group.

Da Cunha said: “I am joining Notting Hill Genesis at an important and exciting time. My priority will be to work on building a truly trusted partnership with residents: a partnership that ensures that residents’ voices are not just heard, but are the driving force behind our service improvements.

“This means harnessing colleagues’ collective efforts to deliver proactive, consistent, and reliable services which remain flexible to respond to the changing needs of residents. From repairs, tenancy management, maintenance to community engagement, this will be our aim.”

Patrick Franco, chief executive of NHG, added: “We have made important progress in our transformation journey at Notting Hill Genesis, but we have more to do.

“I am thrilled that Vic will be joining us, bringing his track record of placing customers at the heart of service delivery, and his passion for what we can achieve as a truly resident-focussed housing association.”
