WHG reports improvement in stock energy efficiency
Walsall Housing Group (WHG) completed 220 new homes in the first nine months of 2025/26, according to an unaudited trading update today.
The figure is a 40% drop on the 369 homes it completed in the same period the previous year. The group is forecasting completing 276 homes in the whole year.

It is currently aiming to increase completions every year up to 522 homes in 2029/30, with nearly 2,500 homes built between 2025 and 2030.
However last week WHG announced that it has entered merger discussions with Aspire Housing in a bid to create additional capacity to invest in new and existing homes. The move would create a £200m-turnover landlord managing 32,000 homes.
Today’s trading update also said WHG is forecasting full-year turnover of £147.2m, similar to last year’s figure of £46m. It is forecasting operating surplus for the full year to be £47.1m, which would be an increase of 18% on the £39m reported in 2024/25.
WHG said that once all energy efficiency works for 2025/26 are completed, 23% of properties are expected to be below Energy Performance Certificate C, this is a 10% percentage point drop on the 33% at the end of the previous year.
