Heald has worked for the G15 landlord and Trafford Housing Trust (THT), which L&Q acquired seven years go, for more than 21 years in total.

She will step into the new executive group director for partnerships and regional operations role next Monday (20 April).

Heald is currently L&Q’s partnerships director for the north west. She has previously held senior roles in policy and research, community investment, technology and transformation for both L&Q and THT, which she joined in 2004.

L&Q has had a presence in the north west region since the acquisition of 9,000-home THT in 2019.

The 109,000-home landlord currently has a strategy of focusing on its core geographical areas of London and Manchester and has been selling off homes outside these areas. In January it completed the transfer of 3,500 homes in South Buckinghamshire to SettleParadigm.

Fiona Fletcher-Smith, group chief executive of L&Q said: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Aly to the executive Group. She has deep experience of our operations in the north west and has already established strong local partnerships.

“Her priority now will be to support the delivery of our new corporate strategy by enabling work to provide social homes to meet housing need in this region.”
