Steve Douglas resigns after nearly 10 years at housing consultancy

Steve Douglas has stepped down from his role of group chief executive of housing and regeneration consultancy Aquila Group Services.

Aquila said Douglas was leaving immediately after nine and half years with the firm and will be temporarily replaced by company chair Derek Joseph until the coronavirus crisis was over.

The company said it needed to reduce costs because of the impact of the coronavirus crisis on revenues and that it had put in place resources and strategies to ensure it could continue to fulfil commitments to clients during the coming months.

Aquila also said it had sufficient finances and other resources in place to ensure continuity of business and that it would be in a position to resume growth once the crisis was over.

Douglas said: “It has been a pleasure working with our many clients over the years. I’m proud to have led Aquila during our successful growth, and I know that our incredibly professional and committed team of consultants will continue to provide the quality of services that our clients have come to expect of us.

“I wish the Aquila Group all the best for the future, particularly during this tough time for us all”.

Douglas joined Aquila division Altair in 2011 as a director responsible for a team working with affordable housing providers.
