Executive director of finance Simon Morris to serve as interim boss of 14,000-home landlord from May

Nick Horne is stepping down as chief executive of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) at the end of next month.

Horne has announced he is retiring after leading the 14,000-home south Manchester landlord for six years, this means he will also stand down from chairing the Manchester Housing Providers Partnership. His previous roles including being chief executive of Bristol-based Knightstone Housing Association before its merger with Wyvern to create LiveWest in 2018.

A spokesperson for WCHG said Horne has “played a significant role in shaping and supporting the organisation’s mission to provide high-quality homes” and has led on improving digital inclusion across Greater Manchester.

WCHG has appointed the group’s current executive director of finance Simon Morris, as Interim Chief Executive, effective from May.

Nick Crofts, chair of WCHG, said: “I would like to thank Nick for his leadership and commitment to Wythenshawe Community Housing Group. Nick has made an important and lasting contribution to the organisation and the communities we serve.”

Horne said: “I’m pleased to leave WCHG in a position of robust financial resilience, strong operational performance and a great customer-centric culture. I’m also pleased to be handing over to Simon, who knows the organisation well, and I’m confident the team will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.”
