The proposed £86m scheme will redevelop the council-owned Guildford Park Road carpark and comprise 40% affordable council housing.

Designed by architect and landscape architect HLM, plans include four apartment buildings of four to six storeys alongside 15 townhouses of two to three storeys set on either side of a central “living street”, which will prioritise pedestrians and cyclists in a landscaped social space.

The developers have also put forward an £11m social value programme, which aims to support community initiatives such as new local jobs and a graffiti clean-up project.

Stantec is consulting on the planning for the project, with Iceni on board as heritage and townscape consultant.
