The Brighton landlords will now join the group at the end of April 2026 rather than December 2025
Stonewater will acquire two small housing associations on April 30 2026, four months after they were originally due to join the group.

Porthove Housing Association (PHA) and the Rotary Club of Hove Housing Society (The Society) previously agreed a transfer of engagement deal in September that was expected to see them fold into Stonewater on 31 December 2025.
However, Stonewater has said the three organisations are still in discussions regarding a transfer of engagements.
It added that the trio have been exploring how the partnership could strengthen services for customers, particularly at a time when smaller housing providers are facing increasing regulatory pressures and limited resources.
PHA manages 44 properties in Brighton, while The Society manages 53. Management of these 97 homes will pass from the providers, which will cease to exist as legal entities, to Stonewater.

Jonathan Layzell, chief executive at Stonewater, said customers of PHA and The Society “would gain access to a wider range of services and the advantages that come with Stonewater’s scale, alongside our continued dedication to strong local relationships.”
Stonewater owns and manages more than 39,000 homes across the UK. It reported an annual turnover of £306m for the year ending March 31, 2025.
