Redrow is set to develop 302 homes in Maidstone after buying a 26-acre site in the south east of the Kent town.

The housebuilder will see land at Bicknor Farm turned into a new community featuring one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses – with 30% of the new homes set to be affordable.

The site has been bought with outline planning permission, with Redrow now drawing up a detailed planning application.

Redrow said the new homes will be from its Heritage Collection, which takes inspiration from the 1930s Arts and Crafts movement.

The developer, which is based in Ewloe, Wales, is currently selling houses at 13 new developments around the UK.
