The housing association giant will recruit somebody internally to fill the new role as it seeks to build on its presence in the Greater Manchester area.

Fiona Fletcher-Smith, group chief executive at L&Q, said: “This new role will help us to realise our corporate strategy by championing regional partnerships and leading on sustainable transformation and change for our operations in the north west”.

L&Q has had a presence in the north west region since it acquired 9,000-home Trafford Housing Trust in 2019.

The 109,000-home landlord currently has a strategy of focusing on its core geographical areas of London and Manchester and has been selling off homes outside these areas. In January it completed the transfer of 3,500 homes in South Buckinghamshire to SettleParadigm.

L&Q will begin its recruitment for the new role, which is titled executive group director, partnerships and regional operations, immediately.
