Trio of organisations in running for Housebuilder & Housing Developer of the Year

The firms in the running for the 2026 Building Awards have been announced, with a huge number of housing organisations and.projects recognised.
Several big-name firms and jobs have been shortlisted (see the full shortlist below) for the awards spread across 19 categories, with Berkeley Group, Latimer by Clarion Housing Group and London Square all in the running for the housebuilder and housing developer of the year title.
Latimer by Clarion Housing Group’s inclusion on the list represents the first time a housing association has been recognised as a nominee in the category.
This year’s awards ceremony, hosted by Housing Today’s sister title Building, is set to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 3 November.
According to editorial director and chair of the judges, Chloe McCulloch, this was done to better showcase the quality and variety of entries.
She said: “The 2026 Building Awards shortlist is a powerful reminder of the resilience, ingenuity and ambition that continues to define this industry. From safer buildings and net zero to housing growth and infrastructure the sector is being asked to deliver more than ever and the organisations and individuals on this year’s shortlist are leading from the front.
“The standard of entries was exceptionally high, reflecting an industry that continues to innovate, collaborate and raise the bar. Congratulations to all of our finalists, and we look forward to recognising their achievements at this year’s Building Awards.”
Other firms from across the housing sector being recognised on the shortlist include Populo Living in the Delivering Social Value Award category, and Thakeham in the Housing Project of the Year for its work at Woodgate.
Other schemes are in the running for the Housing Project of the Year category, which is being run in partnership with The Housing Forum, include Drees & Sommer UK’s Jigsaw Homes Wharton Road job, HTA Design’s work at Braund Mansions, Kendall Kingscott’s Hounslow Small Sites Programme for the London Borough of Hounslow, KORE Insulation’s Duneridge Co-Housing Development, Findhorn Eco Village scheme and MYCO’s Acorn House, King’s Cross job.
Tickets for the event, which is being sponsored by Bellrock, Clement Windows Group, DGP, Fenwick Elliott, and Gleeds and in partnership with Build UK, The Climate Group, The Housing Forum and UKGBC, are on sale now.
Finalists for the final two categories, CEO and Construction Client of the Year will be revealed shortly.
