Alongside new home delivery, the 2026-2030 plan will focus on improving customer service and repairs, investing in existing stock and expanding tenant engagement.

Matt Kelly, head of development at the specialist landlord, said: “We’re really excited to be working with local authority partners to develop accessible homes across several locations in London, including Barking and Dagenham, Hounslow and an exciting development of 91 apartments in partnership with Tooting and Mitcham United Football Club.

“We’re pleased to say that most of our sites have received planning permission and funding from the Greater London Authority. The new developments will provide much-needed accessible social housing for local families, including older and disabled people.”

Habinteg also aims to invest in the energy efficiency and sustainability of current stock to reduce utilities costs for tenants.

The landlord said it intends to develop more formal partnerships with local stakeholders and agencies to improve its schemes and neighbourhoods.

New services will be introduced under the strategy, including an interactive online portal and app with self-service repairs diagnostics and live webchat to improve communication with tenants.

Bradford-based Habinteg manages 3,300 homes across 86 local authorities. While one in three of its properties are designed specifically for wheelchair users, the majority of its homes are built to an accessible or adaptable standard.
