Martin Warhurst steps up after stint as interim boss
Habinteg Housing Association has appointed Martin Warhurst as its new permanent chief executive.

Warhurst served as interim chief executive at the accessible housing specialist for the past 14 months after joining in 2023 as chief financial officer.
Before that, he was executive director of resources at Wakefield District Housing Association and chief executive of children’s hospice Martin House.
He has also held the posts of director of finance and corporate services and managing director at Cestria Community Housing Association, which was then part of the Isos Group (now Karbon Homes).
A chartered accountant by trade, Warhurst has previously worked within the social housing teams at KPMG and Grant Thornton.
He is currently chair of the board at Salford-based housing association Salix Homes and has held non-executive positions at Leeds Federated Housing Association and Broadacres Housing Association.
Bradford-based Habinteg owns and manages more than 3,300 homes across 86 local authorities in England.
