Cavendish & Gloucester scheme will be 35% affordable
Hillingdon Council has granted planning permission for the 433-home regeneration of an industrial estate in west London.
The Rainbow and Kirby Industrial Estate in West Drayton is a brownfield site sitting adjacent to the Grand Union Canal on the edge of Tiewsley town centre.

The Patel Taylor-designed scheme will include new homes ranging from one to three bedrooms, with 35% to be provided as affordable.
Developer Cavendish & Gloucester says it will also deliver three ground floor commercial units and new light industrial spaces, as well as new open space and pedestrian connections.
Existing structures across the 2.3ha site will be demolished, with the phased redevelopment creating nine plots with buildings ranging from three to 11 storeys in height.
The scheme was approved at a planning committee meeting earlier this week.
James Murphy, CEO, Cavendish & Gloucester PLC, said: “This is a significant planning resolution for a long assembled brownfield site in West Drayton and an important step towards creating a major new canal side neighbourhood.
“The scheme will provide 433 new homes, commercial space, substantial improvements to public realm and pedestrian connectivity, with a strong emphasis on waterside living and reconnecting Yiewsley High Street with the Grand Union Canal.
“We are pleased to have reached this point following many years of strategic site assembly and planning work.”
