Grainger has recruited former CBRE chair Michael Brodtman as a non-executive director.

The UK’s largest listed private landlord and build-to-rent developer, today announced the recruitment of Brodtman, who chaired CBRE for two years following a 38 year-career at the agency.

Brodtman previously led CBRE’s its valuation and operational real estate departments and expanded growing specialist teams in emerging sectors. He served as chair between January 2020 and 30 June this year.

Brodtman will join the board of the firm, which last year made pre-tax profit of £152m, in January.

Grainger has portfolio of 10,000 homes and says it has a pipeline of a further 10,000 build-to-rent homes worth £2.4bn.

Mark Clare, non-executive chair of Grainger said: “Michael brings extensive experience in real estate investment to Grainger’s board.”

In June 2022, Grainger announced it forward funded a £128m build-to-rent scheme to deliver 468 homes at Redcliff Quarter in Bristol.
