Neil Eady promoted to fill role vacated by new chief executive Richard Stearn
Berkeley Group has appointed Neil Eady as its chief financial officer.
Eady has been promoted from his previous role as divisional finance director at subsidiary Berkeley Capital with immediate effect.
He succeeds Richard Stearn, who was promoted to chief executive in June.
Eady joined Berkeley in 2013 and has held a number of finance roles. Before that he was at Land Securities for 10 years performing a number of roles including corporate finance director.
Rob Perrins, executive chair of Berkeley, said: “I am delighted to welcome Neil to the board as CFO. In making this appointment the board considered both internal and external candidates.
“Neil’s broad experience, both at Berkeley and in his previous career, the relationships he has established and knowledge of our culture and systems make him ideally placed for the role.”
Berkeley in June reported a pre-tax profit for the year to 30 April of £528.9m. This is 5.1% down on the £557.3m posted the previous year, with profit from joint ventures falling from £65.6m to £14.7m.
