Housebuilder looks at incentives for people to buy
Berkeley Group has offered to pay private school fees of more than £41,000 to buyers of homes in a scheme in north London.

The housebuilder has offered to cover up to two years’ tuition at St John’s Preparatory and Senior School for families buying homes at its Trent Park development in Enfield.
The move, first reported by the Telegraph and confirmed to Housing Today this morning by the £2.4bn-turnover housebuilder, is intended to be an incentive for people to buy in the 260-home development, amid faltering demand in London’s struggling housing market.
Berkeley last month warned the housebuilding market in London has no prospect of improvement without “decisive intervention” from ministers including tax cuts and regulatory changes.
Rob Perrins warned structural supply and demand challenges have left London delivering less than 10% of its annual homes target with “no prospect of material improvement without more decisive intervention as it is clear that policy changes to date are not feeding through to delivery”.
