Margaret Dodwell will join 35,000-home housing association in mid-October

Vivid has hired Margaret Dodwell as its new chief operating officer.

The 35,000-home housing association this week announced the appointment of Dodwell, who is currently chief executive of arm’s length management organisation (ALMO) Lewisham Homes. Lewisham Homes is due to be scrapped by the end of this year, with responsibility of managing council-owned homes being transferred back to Lewisham Council.

Dodwell will lead customer-facing services at the Hampshire-based landlord, including teams overseeing repairs, customer experience, neighbourhoods, lettings, tenancy support and place shaping.

Dodwell said: “It’s great to be joining the VIVID team and helping them drive forward their ambitions around customer service, in the context of the opportunities and challenges it and the sector face. I can’t wait to be part of that.”

Vivid completed 1,401 homes in 2021/22, hitting its target for the year. The association last summer said it completed more than a fifth of the 17,000 homes it had planned to build between 2019 and 2030 and has control over land representing 11,648 plots.

Dodwell replaces Jonathan Cowie, who has been appointed chief executive of 16,000-home association Plymouth Community Homes.
