Former Crest Nicholson boss only left listed housebuilder in October

Stephen Stone, the former Crest Nicholson chief executive, has been appointed non-executive chair of Keepmoat Homes.

Stone stepped down as chairman of Crest Nicholson at the end of October after almost 25 years with the housebuilding firm, including 13 years as chief executive. During that time he negotiated its stock exchange flotation.

His move to Keepmoat will see him join former Crest Nicholson colleague Tim Beale, who was appointed chief executive of the £560m business in February.

Keepmoat is one of the ten biggest constructors of homes in the country, producing more than 4,000 last year, many of them through partnership working with local authorities and registered social landlords.

Stone said he was delighted to be joining the firm. He added: “Having worked with Tim for more than 15 years while he was part of my executive team at Crest Nicholson prior to joining Keepmoat, I’m pleased to be working alongside him again on a new project with an exciting future.”

Beale said: “Stephen has a long and exemplary track record within the housebuilding sector, not least at Crest Nicholson where he played a key role in the transformation of the business, returning it to the public markets and generating substantial value for its shareholders during his tenure.”
