Maria Lyle will become SBHA chief executive in May 2026

Lyle will step up from her current role as chief operating officer in May 2026 following the retirement of outgoing boss Julia Mulloy.

Lyle initially joined the housing provider in 2005 as an area housing coordinator and has also served as a housing manager, director of housing services, director of customer service and director of business support in her 20 years with the organisation.

The 5,700-home landlord has said it will continue to focus on delivering its 2025-2030 “Building Our Impact and Creating Growth” strategic plan commitments, including strengthening services and aligning its aims with national and local housing priorities.

SBHA operates across 49 settlements in the Scottish Borders. It reported an annual turnover of £27.5m in 2024-25.
