Marc Vlessing to pursue other ventures after 20 years leading affordable housing developer
Pocket Living’s founder and board chair, Marc Vlessing, will step down at the end of the month to focus on other ventures.

Vlessing set up the affordable housing developer with Paul Harbard in 2004 after a career in banking and entertainment. In 2024, he stepped down as chief executive to provide strategic oversight of the firm. Its then chief financial officer Paul Rickard succeeded Vlessing at the helm.
After Vlessing’s departure on 30 September 2026, he will focus his time on his role as senior partner and co-owner of Namier Capital Partners, a London-based investment and advisory firm working on energy transition, healthcare and the creative industries.
He will also continue his chairmanship of ProVen Growth & Income VCT Plc, a venture capital trust, as well as offer his housing, finance and political experience as an advisor to the public and private sectors.
Since its conception, Pocket Living has delivered more than 1,800 one-bedroom homes for sale at a 20% discount to the local market for people on “moderate” incomes.
It is currently the only UK developer dedicated to building and selling grant-free affordable homes.
