Helen Gillett prepares to head the board at 50,000-home landlord and developer

Platform Housing Group has appointed Helen Gillett as its new chair designate.

Gillett currently serves as senior independent director on the board of housing association Orbit Group, where she chairs the customer service committee and acts as the statutory member responsible for complaints.

She is also interim chair at the Government Property Agency and interim independent complaints reviewer for HM Land Registry.

Gillett’s appointment comes as John Weguelin, who has chaired the board since 2019, prepares to step down at the end of his term in spring 2026.

Platform manages more than 50,000 homes across the Midlands and is expected to deliver 7,500 homes over the next five years.
