Jane Porter joins 50,000-home association
Platform Housing Group has appointed Jane Porter as a non-executive director.
The 50,000-home Midlands-based housing association has announced Porter will sit on its group audit and risk committee. Platform said the move will strengthen its governance by adding to the board’s “existing diverse and robust commercial experience”.
Porter retired from her role as chief operating officer of Southern Housing in April. She had worked at Southern or its predecessor organisations for 16 years.
Porter has worked in housing for more than 30 years and also sits on the board of 10,000-home Hertfordshire-based association Settle and Citra Pathways, a for-profit provider owned by Lloyds Banking Group.
As COO of Southern she led operations for more than 79,000 homes, managing a £500m budget
Elizabeth Froude, chief executive at Platform said: “Jane’s insight, customer focus and commercial acumen make her a great fit for Platform and we’re excited to work with her as we look to the future.”
