Jo Allchurch will lead the strategic direction of the Assocation of Directors of Housing (ADoH)

Allchurch, a senior policy adviser at the Local Government Association, has been appointed director of strategy, impact & operations at the fledgeling body, which is being set up to represent senior housing and homelessness leaders in local authorities.

Allchurch will lead the development of ADoH’s strategic plan and be the “face and voice” of the organisation. The role is initially on a part-time basis.

She will report into an interim leadership board, the membership of which will be announced in the coming weeks. The body will then be opened up to members. ADoH has received seed funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government but is expected to fund itself through membership fees from next April.

In a statement, an ADoH spokesperson said: “Jo joins ADoH at a pivotal moment in its development. “As our first senior appointment, she will lead the strategic direction, operational setup and external engagement of the association — helping to build a strong foundation for our work and grow our influence across the housing and homelessness sector.

“Jo brings extensive experience in housing, local government and public policy, and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for communities”.
