Housebuilder reports drop in pre-tax profit on increased revenue in half-year results

The new government’s “change in tone” on housebuilding has already resulted in an improvement to builders’ experiences of the planning system, according to Berkeley.

In its interim results for the six month period to 31 October 2024, the firm said it had “already experienced notable traction in the planning system in recent weeks”, which it attributed to the changed rhetoric from the government since the election.
