Contractor selected for third English Cities Fund job

Morgan Sindall has been picked to deliver a third residential scheme in Salford for the English Cities Fund (ECF).

The contractor previously completed the ‘Novella’ residential tower in 2022 as well as the Slate Yard in 2020 for the ECF, a joint venture between Muse Developments, Homes England and Legal and General.

An artist’s impression of the new scheme on the River Irwell

Designed by London-based architectural practice Hawkins\Brown, the latest scheme will provide 196 apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, spread across 23 storeys.

Located on the bank of the River Irwell, It will have 3,800 sq ft of internal space, facilitating a work area, shared-living space and a gym. On the 22nd floor there will also be 1,850 sq ft roof terrace. 

The development will be funded by CBRE Investment Management. 

Hannah Marshall, chief investment officer for UK Direct Real Estate Strategies at CBRE Investment Management said: “We look forward to working with our partners to deliver this scheme to the market, enabling 196 new households the opportunity to rent a sustainable home in close proximity to Central Manchester.”

The schemes are all part of the new 50-acre Salford Central neighbourhood, delivered in partnership between ECF and Salford City Council.
