Private and social housing starts fall 39% and 41% respecitvely quarter-on-quarter, latest data shows
Private housing starts were 39% down in the three months to 31 March compared to the previous quarter while social housing starts fell 41%, according to analysis from data firm Glenigan.
Private and social housing starts in the quarter halved and fell 52% respecitively year on year.
The firm’s construction review also showed new construction work fell across the board in the first quarter of the year with the industrial sector leading the decline.
