Plans for £5k grant outlined in strategy to decarbonise 30m existing homes and commercial buildings

Homeowners can apply for a £5,000 grant to install a heat pump from April next year as part of a raft of announcements in the government’s long-awaited net zero strategy.

Due to be published this morning, the strategy will set out how the government aims to decarbonise the UK’s 30 million buildings as it tries to reach net zero by 2050.
