The Harworth Group has added 793 residential plots to its pipeline this year, saying it is benefitting from “strong operational momentum”.

The Rotherham-based firm said in a trading update that 100% of its budget serviced residential plots sales have either completed, exchanged or are in heads of terms.

The group brought to market its first single-family built-to-rent portfolio of 1,200 homes this year, which it plans to expand further.

Lynda Shillaw, Harworth’s chief executive, said: “We have continued our strong operational momentum into 2022, delivering our growth strategy against an ongoing backdrop of robust demand for our serviced residential plots.”

Shillaw said the group wanted to accelerate the delivery of its development sites and that the 793 residential plots, along with 3.9 million sq ft of industrial and logistics space, was “largely in the land assembly phase”.

She said the sites “represent significant opportunities that will ensure we maintain our target 12 to 15 year land supply as we deliver on our strategic plan”.

The group also reported it had completed the sale to MJ Gleeson of a site for 333 homes on unserviced land at a colliery site in Doncaster.

Shareholders will be told of the company’s operational update at the firm’s AGM today, when the appointment of Peter Henry as the director of sustainability will also be highlighted. Henry has 10 years experience at Harworth and was previously its regional director for Yorkshire & Central.
