MHCLG also launches London-based service
The government’s New Homes Accelerator programme aimed at speeding up stalled schemes will be expanded to include smaller sites.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) initiative launched two years ago will be extended to smaller sites of under 500 homes.

The programme, which MHCLG said has to date sped up 125,000 new homes, provides targeted support to address barriers, including providing local areas with additional planning capacity and removing regulatory hurdles to get schemes moving.
Housing secretary Steve Reed is now calling for developers to bring more sites forward that need support.
MHCLG also announced today the NHA operations in London will be expanded along with a new planning support service for boroughs in the capital to be led by the Greater London Authority.
The department said seven more sites have recently joined the programme including several in the priority growth area of Oxford-Cambridge.
Reed said: “We’re stripping away the barriers blocking new homes being built and our New Homes Accelerator means 125,000 will now go ahead. But we’re just getting started.
“This next phase will see spades in the ground even faster as we build the 1.5 million homes this country needs.”
Andy Hill, founder and group chief executive of housebuilder Hill Group, said: “The focus on priority growth areas, including the Oxford Cambridge Growth Corridor, alongside support for smaller sites and a renewed push in London, is critical if we are to build at the pace this parliament requires”
