Updated masterplan for Prestwich Village will also deliver a market hall, village square, shops, and health and leisure facilities
Detailed plans have been submitted for the next phase of a £100m regeneration scheme in Prestwich, near Bury in Greater Manchester.
Prestwich Regeneration LLP, a joint venture consisting of Bury Council and Morgan Sindall-owned developer Muse, is proposing to build 284 homes as part of the Prestwich Village Regeneration project.

The scheme will see the existing shopping precinct the Longfield Centre demolished.
The scheme will deliver build-to-rent homes, with 25% of the 284 units available as affordable rent.
The project, designed by Jon Matthews Architects, also includes a new market hall, enlarged village square, a library, green spaces, shops and community and health facilities.
Subject to validation, the application will be determined within the statutory thirteen-week period, with a decision expected in summer 2026. A £14m travel hub is due to open as part of the project this summer.
Hugh Taylor, senior project manager at Muse, said: “The submission of this planning application is a major milestone for Prestwich.
”We know how important community space is and this next phase is about delivering just that. We’ve updated the masterplan to feature more places for people to get together both in the new larger library and expanded village square. With the travel hub due to open this summer, there is real momentum behind this project, and we look forward to working with Bury Council to bring these plans to life.”
