Dame Clare Tickell to join repairs contractors board on 1 April
Mears has appointed Dame Clare Tickell to its board.

Tickell, whose past roles include serving as chief executive at housing provider Hanover, will join the board of the £1.1bn contractor on 1 April.
Tickell, in addition to leading Hanover between 2014 and 2018, is currently on the board of the John Lewis Partnership Foundation and is a trustee at Nuffield Federation. She has also served on the board of the National Audit Office and housing association Guinness Partnership.
Jim Clarke, chair of Mears, said: “I am delighted with the appointment of Dame Clare Tickell. She brings deep understanding of the interface between public accountability and commercial delivery and is a strong fit for Mears’ purpose-led, contract-based business model.”
Mears provides repairs and maintenance services in the social housing sector. It is responsible for maintaining around 750,000 homes.
