Nigel Wilson to take up new role on 1 September 


Trident Housing Group has hired former Gentoo boss Nigel Wilson as its new chief executive.

The 3,600-home Birmingham-based association has announced the appointment of Wilson, who departed his previous role at 30,000-home association Gentoo suddenly in January.

Wilson headed up Sunderland-based Gentoo for four years and before that served as CEO of Wythenshawe Community Housing in Manchester from 2013 to 2018.

Wilson, on LinkedIn, said: “Trident Housing Group is an incredible organization with a powerful social purpose and a rich history of supporting communities in the Midlands. Their dedication to making a positive impact is truly inspiring, and I am honoured to be a part of this journey.

“Looking forward to contributing my passion and expertise to furthering the mission of Trident Housing Group!

A Trident spokesperson said: “We are pleased to announce Nigel Wilson has been appointed as our new Chief Executive.

“Nigel has more than 30 years experience in housing and is committed to continuing to have residents’ voices at the heart of what we do.”

Gentoo at the time declined to specify the reasons why Wilson left his role with immediate affect earlier this year.

Wilson will start his new role at Trident on 1 September.
