UK’s poor quality housing causes ‘excess winter deaths’, report finds

Housebuilders must build more quality, affordable homes and consider the neighbourhoods they are creating, according to a health report. 

The UK has a “major problem with poor quality, poorly insulated housing that is damaging to health and contributes to excess winter deaths each year”, a review released by the Legal & General and the University College London (UCL) Institute of Health Equity yesterday said. ”There is a “lack of affordable housing in the UK,” it also noted.
