Worthing council to pull out of 216-home scheme and sell share to partner

West Sussex local authority says it wants to accelerate construction and “receive payment sooner”

Worthing Borough Council cabinet members have voted to quit its joint venture with partner Roffey Homes, agreeing to sell its stake to the housebuilder pending negotiations.

The council believes the move will save money and speed up the delivery of the “sustainable” 216-home scheme in Union Place, West Sussex.
