Firm poaches Morgan Sindall executive to senior job in housing partnerships business

Contractor and residential developer Wates Residential has appointed former Morgan Sindall regeneration boss Andrew Savege to be its new head of partnerships.

Savege will take up the new senior role in the firm’s partnerships housing business. Wates says he will play a key role in bidding for new developments and developing relationships with local authority and housing association partners.

Savage has previously spent more than 16 years at Morgan Sindall, including as head of regeneration until 2018, and director of new partnerships since then.

Wates Residential is delivering housing schemes in the London boroughs of Havering and Harrow, and was recently appointed by Barking and Dagenham-owned regeneration company Be First to build 386 homes in the borough (pictured, left).

It is also working with Notting Hill Genesis on the redevelopment of the Grahame Park Estate in Barnet.

Helen Bunch, executive managing director at Wates Residential, said the appointment was about investing in the relationships the firm has with local authority and housing association partners. “We listen to our customers and have created this new head of partnerships role and appointed Andrew to the task to be their internal voice.”

Savege said he was looking forward to leading bids for new developments and to “meeting and building relationships with the local authorities and housing associations we work with to create sustainable communities together”.
