Warwick council has approved L&Q’s plans for 450 homes on a 21ha site south west of the city.

The scheme will include 40% affordable housing as well as new public space, foot paths and cycleways, and children’s play areas.

The development will be known as Beauchamp Park and built on land south of Gallows Hill, west of Europa Way.

Work will begin in summer, with the first batch of homes due by September 2020. The overall development will complete in spring 2023.

Outline permission for the site was granted in 2016.

Earlier this week a 3,000 home development proposed by L&Q and Countryside on a site in east London also received planning permission.
