Former SLH chair and Riverside deputy chief executive has died
Tributes have been paid to the former chair of South Liverpool Homes (SLH) David Jepson who has died.

In a statement, 3,800-home SLH said it was deeply saddened to share the news of Jepson’s passing and said he was a “passionate advocate” for Speke and Garston who always challenged the organisation to keep improving.
It said: “At SLH, David was a principled, knowledgeable and tireless champion for our organisation and our communities. He was deeply committed to ensuring tenants’ voices were listened to and acted upon, and to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. “
“David will be incredibly missed by everyone at SLH. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones at this very sad time.”
Jepson became vice-chair of SLH from 2016 and then chair from 2020 until 2024.
He was an experienced figure in the sector, serving as deputy chief executive of Riverside from 2005 to 2013. He also held a number of interim leadership roles including at Gentoo Group and Sussex Housing and Care.
Paul Diggory, chair of SLH, writing on LinkedIn, said: “Awfully sad loss. David was understated in his style but very sharp and insightful. Working alongside him at SLH. I found him quietly inspiring. “Throughout his career he contributed significantly to the housing sector and nowhere more so than on Merseyside. A man of real integrity, it was a privilege to work with him.”
Danielle James, executive director of finance at Onward Homes, said: “So sad to hear this. Dave was such a supportive leader and a fantastic chair.”
