The 40,000-home provider had been meant to acquire Porthove Housing Association and the Rotary Club of Hove Housing Society back in December, but the move was delayed by a number of months while the organisations discussed a transfer of engagements.

An update to investors, published on Monday, showed that this had been completed, with 44 Porthove properties and 53 Rotary Club properties transferring to Stonewater.

Stonewater recently saw its chief financial officer, Anne Costain, leave her role with immediate effect. The £300m-turnover provider declined to comment on her reasons for departure and announced the appointment of Francesco Ella as interim chief financial officer.
