As managing director, he will oversee the firm’s operations across the south-east of England.

Nutt began his career at Beazer Homes and went on to hold managing director positions at a number of other national housebuilders.

He is the Beaconsfield-based group’s second senior appointment in as many months. In January the firm appointed former Crest Nicholson managing director Greg Ketteridge in January to supervise its housebuilding operations in north London.

Privately-owned Shanly Homes, founded 51 years ago by current chairman Michael Shanly, was working on more than 700 homes at the end of the firm’s last financial year.

In the year to 31 March 2019, the group reported pre-tax profit of £1.5m, up nearly five-fold year-on-year, on turnover of £25.4m.
