Mark Mayler will become chief executive in June 2026

Mayler will step up in June 2026 following the resignation of Barry Hughes, announced in November 2025.

Hughes has served as the organisation’s chief executive since 2007 but “decided that now is the right time to leave and explore other interests.”

Selwood Housing’s new boss spent the last five years as its chief financial officer and previously served as finance director at RAC and BT.

Mayler has also held a non-executive role at housing association Cornerstone Housing and currently sits on the board at social landlord Brighter Places.

Selwood Housing manages more than 7,200 homes across Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath and Northeast Somerset for affordable rent, including social rent, and shared ownership.
