Simon Dudley also previously chaired the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation
Reform UK has named the former interim chair of Homes England as its housing and infrastructure spokesperson.
Simon Dudley, who started his career in finance and banking, announced he was joining the right-wing political party last month. He held positions positions at Homes England between 2017 and 2021, including a stint of just over a year as interim chair of the board. He is also the former chair of the Ebbsfleet Development Corporatio

A statement issued by Reform today (Tuesday) said that deputy leader Richard Tice had appointed Dudley to the role.
Reform UK, which is led by Nigel Farage, currently has just eight MPs, but tops most UK opinion polls for voting intention.
In his new party role, Dudley will lead a review which will look at measures to reduce planning costs and delays, and to lower the cost of housing and infrastructure delivery.
Dudley worked as managing director at Citi during the 2000s, after which he was executive director at Arcapita, a sharia-compliant private equity firm.
He was a council leader for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead between 2016 and 2019.
He was chair of the board of Ebbsfleet Development Corporation between 2021 and 2025, and held the same position from 2021 to 2024 at Square Roots, a registered affordable housing provider set up by residential developer London Square.
Dudley is currently on the advisory board of the centre-right housing campaign group Build for Britain and is independent chair of the governance and ethics committee at Middlesex Cricket Club.
“Britain faces a Building Crisis,” said Dudley. “Young people are locked out of home ownership. Families are paying high rents. Businesses are held back by a planning system that slows growth and blocks investment.”
“I have spent my career delivering homes and major regeneration schemes. I know that with the right reforms we can move quickly and at scale.”
“Simon Dudley has delivered at scale,” said Richard Tice, who also serves as Reform’s business, trade and energy spokesperson.
“He understands planning, finance and regeneration. He knows how to get projects moving. That is exactly what we need. This is essential to increase growing and prosperity.”
