Tom Hughes brought into eastern division

Redrow’s eastern division has appointed Berkeley’s former senior land manager Tom Hughes as its new head of land.

His role will involve sourcing immediate and strategic land for residential development across Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk, as well as north and east London.

Hughes said that he will drive forward the housebuilder’s “ambitious” plans to ramp up the volume of its sales in the region.

Tom Wright, managing director of Redrow’s eastern business, said that Hughes (pictured) was “a natural choice” for the role as he comes with “extensive knowledge of the area and understands the homes and communities we are seeking to create at Redrow.”

Prior to his four-year stint at Berkeley, Hughes was an associate director at CBRE between 2015 and 2016 and spent a decade as associate director at Colliers International between 2005 and 2015.

A spokesperson for Redrow said Hughes landed the role in November last year but the appointment was not announced until this week because of delays caused by covid.

He replaces Carl Atkinson, who had held the post since 2015 and has moved to Crest Nicholson as its new land director.
