The plan includes investment in new and existing homes and is underpinned by an ambition to grow PCH’s homes-under-management to up to 25,000, from its current portfolio of 16,000, across the South West.

PCH aims to build 1,500 new affordable homes over the next five years and ensure all of its homes achieve a minimum EPC C rating by 2030.

In addition to the planned £1.2bn investment, PCH’s business plan will be backed by £250m secured through the housing association’s selection as a strategic partner in Homes England’s Social and Affordable Homes Programme 2026-2036.

“This business plan is one of the most ambitious in PCH’s history,” said Jonathan Cowie, chief executive of Plymouth Community Homes.

“It sets out how we will invest £1.2 billion over the next decade to improve existing homes, strengthen communities and help meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the South West.

“The challenges facing residents and the housing sector are significant, but so is the opportunity to make a difference. By listening to residents, working closely with partners and investing for the long term, we are setting out a clear plan to deliver positive change for current and future residents.”
