50,000-home provider acquires consented agricultural land
Platform Housing Group has bought a 13-hectare site in the Cotswolds on which it will build a 280-home scheme.

The 50,000-home provider completed the purchase of agricultural land at Kingshill Lane, near Cirencester.
Plans for 280 homes, including 40% for affordable tenures, were approved by Cotswolds District Council last summer. The plans include open space, landscaping and a pumping station.
The affordable homes consist of 50 social rented homes, 28 affordable rent, 28 First Homes and six shared ownership.
Matthew Carroll, senior land and partnerships manager at Platform Housing Group said: “Our acquisition of Kingshill Lane is another strong example of Platform’s ability to secure opportunities within a highly competitive residential land market.
“Our proposals for the site will deliver a significant number of high quality and sustainable affordable homes in Cirencester, helping meet local housing need and supporting the growth of thriving communities across the wider Cotswolds area.”
Platform, in an unaudited update last week, said it completed 1,380 homes in 2025/26, up from 1,036 the previous year.
