The properties will sit in six tower blocks ranging between five and 12 storeys
Proposals have been submitted to Leeds City Council for 504 new homes across six multi-storey towers.
The £100m scheme, named New Foundry Square, was lodged by planning consultant Euan Kellie Property Solutions on behalf of housing association Your Housing Group and developer Forshaw Land and Property Group.
An affordable housing statement has been submitted with the application, which outlines a commitment to the delivery of 7% affordable units, subject to viability.
Designed by Manchester-based Ollier Smurthwaite Architects, the development will comprise one, two and three-bedroom homes set across six blocks of between five and 12 storeys.
The community will also include retail space, a residents lounge and private dining area, cinema, gym, co-working office and a pool.
Matt Ollier, director at Ollier Smurthwaite, said: “The scheme’s design has been influenced by the site’s rich industrial heritage and provides multi-generational living with new public garden and community square.”
The scheme will be built on a currently vacant site to the west of the city centre, spanning 3.7 acres.
Ellie Philcox, director at Euan Kellie Property Solutions, said: “The development will form a key piece of the council’s longstanding aspirations for the regeneration of this part of Leeds, creating linkages to the River and Canal to the south and neighbouring plots.”
