An initial 160 homes to be delivered at Persimmon and Barratt Redrow’s Ashton Park JV
Persimmon Homes Wessex has been given permission to deliver the initial phase of its 2,500-home Ashton Park scheme in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

The housebuilder’s reserved matters application will deliver 161 homes to the south of the neighbourhood.
A joint venture between Persimmon Homes and Barratt Redrow received outline consent from Wiltshire Council for Ashton Park last year, which will also provide new schools, early years facilities and an ecology visitor centre.
Under the plans, 27% of on-site homes will be reserved for local housing association partners, while the developers will contribute £5.4m for the council to provide off-site affordable housing given that the 27% figure is below the 30% required by the local authority.
Once complete, it is expected that the scheme will have delivered capital contributions of £25.6m from developers and a community infrastructure levy contribution of £7.5m for local projects.
It will also provide £36.5m for road relief, including a new section for the A350, bypassing the existing West Ashton crossroads.
In November 2024, it was announced that Barratt Redrow had acquired half of the land at Ashton Park from Persimmon, with the deal turning the project into a joint venture.
