Fourth phase of scheme brings total number of homes to 771

Persimmon has been granted approval for the fourth phase of its Jubilee Gardens scheme in Warminster.

The housebuilder’s Wessex business, which covers Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset, can now begin construction of 266 new homes, bringing the total number of approved dwellings to 771.

Plans for the fourth phase include 61 properties for a local housing association, as well as a large area of public space to complete a linear park envisioned earlier in the planning process.

Outline permission was granted for up to 1,000 homes on the site in 2020.

The scheme will also include ecological features such as bird and batboxes.

Persimmon Homes Wessex managing director Seb Spiller said: “I am pleased that Persimmon has secured its latest planning approval in Warminster, demonstrating our commitment to working with the community to deliver low-cost, high-quality, much-needed homes in the town.

“Creating a sense of place as part of our mission to deliver a positive and lasting legacy is important to Persimmon, and we are evidently bringing that to Jubilee Gardens, not just through new housing, but the supporting infrastructure that goes with it.”
