Value of forward sales up in third quarter update
Persimmon’s new home completions are expected to rise this year, a third quarter trading update has revealed.
In an update for the period from 1 July to 2 November, the housebuilder said that a company-compiled consensus had predicted it would complete 11,293 homes in the full year, with an underlying pre-tax profit of £429m.

By comparison, Persimmon completed a total of 10,664 homes in 2024, up from the 9,922 completed in 2023.
The trading update also revealed that the housebuilder’s net private sales per outlet per week had increased 9%, from 0.7 in the equivalent period the previous year, to 0.76.
The value of current forward sales was £2.79bn, up 15% from £2.42bn.
The housebuilder said it was “well positioned” to achieve its planned growth in the year, with 83% of its expected private delivery already exchanged or completed.
“We remain mindful of affordability constraints and the potential impact the upcoming Government budget might have on our private customers and on our institutional build-to-rent and affordable housing partners,” it said.
Persimmon said it expected the “bulk of works” on fire safety remediation to be completed over the course of the next two years.
Its full year results will be published on 13 January 2026.
